The following sessions are run for a  half term, term or academic year.

Key Stage 1

  • Reception classes are story based sessions, where the yoga postures are incorporated into the story. The children are guided through the main part of the story with opportunities for opinions and suggestions. Modifications into the poses are always taught to keep high self-esteem. Relaxation techniques are taught that can be used in everyday life.
  • Year 1 and Year 2 classes are similar to the Reception sessions, although stories are taliored to what the children are learning at that time in the curriculum. Sessions can be continued in the classroom linking the yoga story to early literacy.

All sessions have strong links with PSHE, Physical and Creative Development.

Key Stage 2

  • These sessions tend to follow themes, again which can be linked to the curriculum. The sessions allow the child to become more physically aware about their bodies and their feelings. Sessions can be continued in the classroom with links to PSD.

SATS

  • Sessions start about 6 weeks before SATS begin. They include the tools the children need to help them cope. Breathing exercises, stress relieving poses, deep relaxation, headache relief, eye exercises, etc. Helping them to implement strategies while at their desk as well as beforehand.

Short sessions are advised on SATS days following the above course.

Breathing and Relaxation

  • These sessions involve breathing and relaxation techniques, which can support a child through many of life's difficult changes. Sessions include the importance of correct breathing, basic anatomy, breathing positions, breathing techniques, relaxation methods, time for feedback, finishing with a full relaxation with breath.

These sessions are aimed towards children in Secondary Education. Sessions can also incorporate yoga postures is required. Content will be adapted to suit the needs of the children

Yoga for Teenagers

  • Sessions are a fast moving and following yoga, enabling them the chance to be aware of their bodies and build self confidence in a non competive environment. The sessions include breathing and relaxation techniques which are invaluable at this stage of life.
